so in p.e. today, the only class i've been to thus far, i got through pretty much all my exercises. and while i'm not utterly pooped, i did leave the class a little wobbly. all of my assigned exercises are leg stuffs, mainly that work my quads, hamstring, and calves (is there anything else?!), so after an hour and half of that, my muscles be feelin' it. then after all that, i hadn't done any of the cardio so i went and rode a bike for 5 minutes. and i didn't ride it hard or fast (*snicker*) but boy was i getting a little damp. i'm not a sweaty person and it's a rare occasion when you can catch me with a trickle of salty water running of my forehead. and i didn't think i left the class very sweaty either. but then when i got to this lab, i took my coat off (as i was rather warm) and sat down, and i'd be danged if my shirt wasn't all sticking to my back. ! amazing. and now i've been here, oh, about 30 minutes, and no longer feel sweaty (although a little sticky). i've got that exquisite chilled feeling, like when you worked out a bunch then stood in front of a really cold fan. chills ya to the bone but it feels good.
while i was in the locker room getting ready for class, this woman comes in who's locker is across from mine. and she said she has a personal defense class. i looked around, realized she was talking to me, and responded appropriately. then she started telling my about how she has to remove all her jewelry and she always forgets where it is. and she continued to list every piece of jewelry she was wearing--"i have two earrings in both ears, and a necklace, and three rings, and i have a toe ring, but i still remove that even though i keep my feet in shoes and socks... and a watch, and i'm wearing this bracelet today, and..." you get the idea. and i'm sitting there half nekkid trying to get into the ugly ass blue lane-issued sweats, and she's ranting about her jewelry. shuttup!! and you know how i mentioned how a lot of the people in my p.e. class are, well, "special"? a guy i'm assuming had a stroke is now my best friend, it would seem. i was sitting and working with this intern girl, and this guy wandered over and started staring at me. (older guy, mid-late 40's.) the girl i was with said "he's reading your sweatshirt". ah! glad she confirmed, because i was rather confused and didn't know if i should move or something. then her read the other girl's sweatshirt, and continued to stand there for a few more minutes until his personal trainer person got on his case. towards the end of the class, i was walking over to get some equipment and he came and stood right in front of me. "i have to go home now. are you going to be here next time?" yeah, it's my class too. have a good week! "you know, you're a very pretty girl." umm, thanks, bye. crappola, i can't even escape from 45 year old stroke victims hitting on me! okay, so maybe he's just nice and old and senile, but still, go away creepy men.
it is gorgeously sunny outside right now, and i'm a bit too excited about sitting outside to eat my sandwich. maybe it's the sandwich, i'm so digging this whole sliced deli-meat thing; it feels so luxurious! all the happy bread and mayonaisse that goes with it... mmmmmm. and sunshine to keep me warmed! not that i want to be in the sun a great deal, it's still my arch enemy of tans and future wrinkles (and, yaknow, skin cancer) but i sure do appreciate the value of a good warm heat in my bones.
