Please Explain to Me: Why?!

If possible, please tell me the logic of taking all your groceries out of the little hand basket, then setting the hand basket next to the groceries. Do you think it makes the checkout process easier for the cashier, now that all items are separate? Do you do this just to spite me and my heavily burdened hand basket, which cannot possibly fit on the conveyor belt now with all your groceries so neatly laid out? Do you do this simply because you are an inconsiderate bitch?

Also, explain to me why you will careen to a stop at the pedestrian crosswalk, your front bumper inevitably crossing over into the "pedestrian safety zone", and then look at me in a stupor as you try to figure out why I'm not already on the other side of the road. Honestly, do you think that I use crosswalks for the opportunity to walk in front of speeding cars? Would you walk out in front of a car that's driving like you do, just because that person is slowing down enough so that by the time they reach the crosswalk you should be crossed?

These are things I cannot explain, and yet they consistently happen to me. I swear, people are more courteous during the peak of "rush hour"--be it at the grocery store or on the road--than they are in the hours before. Funny how a period of time that is stereotyped as being horrible and filled with angry, mean people can often appear one of the nicest times of the day. Especially with nice weather.
